El Clandestino moves to Cascais

With doors open since 2015, the restaurant El Clandestino is moving to the town of Cascais.

Initially, this restaurant dedicated to Mexican flavours and known for its tacos and margaritas was located in Lisbon’s Príncipe Real area. Here, its offer was not only exotic food, but it always maintained a lively spirit, especially at weekends.

To their new address in Cascais, a historic space in the town that is more than 40 years old, they have carried this same fun spirit, as one of the four partners explains.

“The gastronomic experience goes far beyond the cuisine, which, however, is fundamental. Here the fun, unpretentious atmosphere is very much our dynamic, our energy. Everything that is not true people feel,” Salvador stresses.

Under the helm of chef Teófilo Quiñones, the menu, like the decoration we were used to, has undergone some changes and now you can find on the menu Peruvian food proposals, and the fusion of this gastronomic tradition with characteristic aromas and flavours of Asian cuisine.

Located at number 10 of Costa Pinto Avenue, this place is the ideal place to have a drink at the end of the day, have dinner and even dance until dawn on weekends.

Just like the previous space, clients will be able to count on lively nights at the weekends, with the presence of guest DJs, on Fridays and Saturdays, until 4 a.m. and, soon, live music will also be available.

With capacity for approximately 70 seats inside and 20 on the terrace, this space promises to bring new life to Cascais.

Highlights on the menu are the ceviche, the loin sautéed in the wok, the ossobuco slow cooked in red wine and the salmon bao. Besides these proposals you will also find the loin steak, which was a classic on the menu at Piper’s, which was a classic of the restaurant that used to be there.

For vegetarians, the funghi mushroom risotto is a suggestion not to be missed.

To go with it, the restaurant offers equally special cocktails, such as the margarita clandestina, a unique signature cocktail that mixes tequila, lime, strawberry and balsamic vinegar.

Open from Wednesday to Sunday, this space promises muy calientes nights at its new address.
