According to the monthly report from the National Agency of Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG), total production for the month was 30 million barrels, 7.9% below the forecast, with an operational efficiency of 86.6%.
Oil production in Angola fell to an average of 1,001,704 barrels per day in April, below the forecast of 1,087,632 barrels per day, the ANPG announced on Friday.
According to ANPG’s monthly report, total production for the month reached 30 million barrels, 7.9% below the target, with an operational efficiency of 86.6%.
The agency also highlighted the production of associated gas, most of which was reinjected into the reservoirs or used to generate energy and supply the Angola LNG (ALNG) plant.
This plant produced 3.8 million barrels of oil equivalent but saw a reduction of around 10% compared to the target, due to maintenance and a breakdown.
A barrel of oil equivalent is a standardized measure that combines different energy sources, such as oil and gas in energy-equivalent terms.
Total oil liftings in April amounted to 31 million barrels, of which 29 million were exported and around 1.8 million were delivered to the Luanda refinery.
During the month, 14 drilling units were in operation, and work was carried out on 28 wells. This plant produced 3.8 million barrels of oil equivalent but recorded a reduction of about 10% compared to the goal, due to repairs and a malfunction.
