The Angolan Government has signed an agreement with the African Development Bank (AfDB) worth approximately $79 million (€76.6 million) to fund the “Crescer” project, according to a presidential decree.
The goal is to “ensure financial resources to facilitate access to credit for start-ups, as well as micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, improve the regulatory framework, and strengthen youth professional qualifications,” the decree signed by João Lourenço states.
The Crescer Project aims to boost innovation and entrepreneurship in Angola through the development of digital, technical, ecological, and business skills tailored to market demand, fostering creativity and innovation among young people, and supporting start-ups in accessing innovative financing.
The program’s goal is to train over 95,000 young people in digital technologies and technical-vocational education and training in agriculture and climate-smart transportation.
