The President of the United States (USA), Joe Biden, will travel to Angola in the first week of December, the White House confirmed today.
The trip to Angola was initially scheduled for October, but Biden postponed it to oversee the passage of Hurricane Milton through the United States.
In Angola, Biden will be received by the country’s President, João Lourenço, according to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
Biden, noted Jean-Pierre, “will recognize Angola’s role as a regional leader and highlight the significant transformation in the relationship between the United States and Angola.”
The White House also indicated that both countries are working on several “urgent challenges,” including addressing Africa’s infrastructure gap, strengthening peace and security, and improving food security.
The U.S. head of state will also take the opportunity to meet with representatives of the private sector during his visit.
