The Public Debt Management Unit (UGD) raised 156.5 billion kwanzas through Treasury Securities in the national currency in December 2024, the institution reported.
According to data from the monthly Treasury Securities Issuance report by the Ministry of Finance, the amount raised in December was 1.6% less than the 168.2 billion kwanzas sold in the previous month.
The UGD stated that the amount recorded for payments in national currency securities during the period was 156.5 billion kwanzas, the same amount recorded in the previous month.
The report highlights that maturities ranged from 182 days to 2 years, while yields remained stable at 9.48% for 182 days, 13.43% for 364 days, and 15% for 2 years. Meanwhile, the Luibor Overnight rate, which reflects the liquidity level of the economy, is currently set at 22.93%.
Issuances in Foreign Currency
In December, the UGD raised $143 million through the issuance of Treasury Securities with a three-year maturity (due December 2027) at a yield of 5.0%. During the same period, the Ministry of Finance reported that these operations resulted in payments totaling $143 million.
