Angola recorded an average inflation rate of 28.1% in 2024, ending the year with a 1.7% increase in prices in December compared to November, and a year-on-year increase of 27.5%, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
According to the INE, “the year-on-year variation in December stood at 27.50%, registering an increase of 7.49 percentage points compared to the same period of the previous year.”
The document also states that “when comparing the year-on-year variation (December 2024) with that of the previous month, a deceleration of 0.91 percentage points is observed.”
In Luanda, the province where prices rose the most, prices in December of last year were 32.18% higher than in the same period of 2023, according to INE data, which reported an “increase of 6.16 percentage points.”
