Angola’s Privatization Program (PROPRIV) for the 2023–2026 period is undergoing adjustments, shortening by several dozen the list of assets scheduled for privatization this year. While TAAG remains on the agenda, plans for Sonangol have been postponed.

According to a Presidential Decree (No. 36/26) reviewed by Jornal Económico (JE), the state plan still includes Angola Telecom, Endiama, and Unitel, through an Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the Angolan stock exchange, as well as TAAG via a Limited Tender by Prior Qualification (CLPQ). Also included are Nova Cimangola, SBA, TAAG, ZEE, Unitel, Grupo Medianova, TV Zimbo, and BCA.

In addition to Sonangol, the companies excluded from the privatization list include Multitel, MS Telecomunicações, NAIL (António Agostinho Neto International Airport – AIAAN), SGA, and TV Cabo Angola, along with eight Sonangol subsidiaries and assets, among them ENCO and Hotel Miramar, as well as industrial units located in the Special Economic Zone, and other assets in the transport, fisheries, agro-industry, financial, and telecommunications sectors.

In the hospitality and tourism sector, the list of companies/assets to be privatized in 2026 also includes 30 hotel units from the UI and IKA chains across various provinces of the country, according to the decree signed by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, on February 19.
