Meanwhile, the General Tax Administration (AGT) aims to collect 106.2 billion kwanzas in 2025, representing a 47% growth challenge, as highlighted by administrator Leonildo Manuel.
Angola’s General Tax Administration (AGT) collected approximately 72.1 billion kwanzas in 2024 through the Property Tax (IP), accounting for about 1.1% of the total non-oil revenue.
The figures were announced this Wednesday in Luanda by AGT administrator Leonildo Manuel, who stated that the institution registered 400,449 properties (apartments, houses, and similar) in 2024.
“This, in practical terms, represents a 34% growth compared to the 2023 fiscal year. In 2023, we had a cadastral base of 298,874 registered properties,” he recalled.
Speaking at a press conference, Leonildo Manuel added that the General Tax Administration aims to collect 106.2 billion kwanzas in 2025, reflecting a growth challenge of 47%.
Regarding the Motor Vehicle Tax (IVM), he further disclosed that revenue reached 5.1 billion kwanzas, contributing around 0.1%.
“For 2025, we expect to grow by 27% compared to 2024 results, with a projected revenue of 6.5 billion kwanzas, as outlined in the General State Budget,” he indicated.
Currently, the AGT has a total cadastral base of 716,897 motor vehicles, distributed as follows: aircraft (175), boats (3,057), motorcycles (77,642), heavy vehicles (79,445), and light vehicles (556,578).
“In 2024, we saw a cadastral growth of 7.2% compared to 2023, while the growth registered in 2023 was around 11.7%,” he emphasized.
The AGT administrator highlighted that Luanda was the province that contributed the most to Property Tax revenue, collecting over 43 billion kwanzas.
“This is justified by the fact that almost half of the registered properties are located in our cadastral base,” said Leonildo Manuel, further noting that the province of Bengo collected 607 billion kwanzas.
