According to oil and gas production data for the second quarter of 2025, released today by Angola\u2019s Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas, the volume of oil exported represents a decrease of 3.82% compared to the previous quarter, yet still generated earnings of around 4.7 billion euros.<\/p>\n
The gross value of exports in the second quarter registered a 12.5% decrease compared to the previous quarter, and a year-on-year drop of 29.81%.<\/p>\n
Angola\u2019s Secretary of State for Mineral Resources, J\u00e2nio Correia V\u00edtor, explained that during the period under review, the behavior of oil prices in the international market was marked by significant volatility, driven by a combination of geopolitical, economic, and market factors.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe downward pressure on prices was mainly driven by the escalating trade war between the United States of America (USA) and China, with the imposition of high reciprocal tariffs, increased production by OPEC+, Kazakhstan, and Guyana, as well as the accumulation of crude oil and refined product stocks in the USA,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
During this period, of the total volume exported, 31.52% belonged to the National Agency for Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG), and 16.21% to Sonangol, followed by Azule Energy (13.58%), TotalEnergies (13.02%), ESSO (8.04%), Equinor (5.63%), SSI and Cabgoc with 5.59% and 4.84%, respectively.<\/p>\n
China was the main destination for Angolan oil exports, receiving 55.33% of the total, followed by Indonesia (9.19%), India (9.18%), and the Netherlands (5.91%).<\/p>\n
Regarding natural gas, exports in the months of April, May, and June totaled around 1.35 million metric tons, with a highlight on LNG (liquefied natural gas), generating revenues of 754.7 million dollars (642 million euros).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
