Angola\u2019s National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG) has already awarded more than 40 new concessions in various oil blocks, with that number expected to reach 50 by the end of the year, said its executive director, Alcides Andrade, on Monday, the 7th.<\/p>\n
The statement was made at the end of the formal signing ceremony of the Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) for Blocks CON3 and KON15, with companies Walcot, Sonangol Exploration & Production, and Afentra.<\/p>\n
The executive director also announced that at the beginning of the last quarter of this year, the National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency will launch a new bidding process.<\/p>\n
\u201cThrough these actions, ANPG seeks to create the best possible investment conditions so that Angola remains a preferred destination in this sector,\u201d emphasized Alcides Andrade.<\/p>\n
He highlighted that the goal is not only to continue awarding new concessions, but to ensure that concrete activities take place so that the oil blocks can deliver results and generate benefits for the country and society.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur focus has been on creating conditions to remain competitive and attractive to oil sector investment,\u201d he reiterated, noting that four bidding rounds have been carried out in the last five years.<\/p>\n
Angola\u2019s National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG) officially launched in September 2023 the Licensing Round for 12 onshore oil blocks in the Lower Congo and Kwanza Basins.<\/p>\n
