Food Life Angola held talks with national and international financial institutions on the sidelines of the 6th Africa Financial Summit (AFIS) to identify financing mechanisms aimed at accelerating agricultural production, industrial processing, logistics and food distribution projects in eastern Angola.<\/p>\n
The company used the summit in Luanda to present its project portfolio to commercial banks and development finance institutions, including the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, and the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC).<\/p>\n
The discussions focused on possible financing solutions for investments in the agro-industrial value chain, particularly to increase food production and processing, strengthen agricultural value chains and create new economic opportunities in the country\u2019s eastern provinces.<\/p>\n
In an interview with Forbes \u00c1frica Lus\u00f3fona, Food Life Angola\u2019s Chairman of the Board, Osvaldo Jo\u00e3o, described the contacts held on the sidelines of AFIS as productive and highlighted the opportunity to present the company\u2019s projects to potential national and international financiers.<\/p>\n
One of the main pillars of Food Life Angola\u2019s strategy is the integration of family farmers into formal production, processing and marketing chains. The model envisages industrial units operating as centres for absorbing local agricultural production, creating market channels for small-scale producers and contributing to higher incomes.<\/p>\n
The company also intends to strengthen the productive capacity of rural communities through access to agricultural inputs, mechanisation services, technical assistance and structured markets, linking project financing to the development of the agro-industrial value chain in eastern Angola.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
